Lumus’ staff members are highly trained and understand design and construction technology and historical preservation. Our staff has experiences on over 400 projects of various scope and size. We commit to assisting the property owners through the construction process with a clear, concise understanding of the information being expressed in the project documents.

Lumus Construction, Inc. is a general, mechanical and electrical contracting organization that began active construction in April 1998. The ownership brings five generations of construction experience to the organization. We primarily construct, renovate and rehabilitate public facilities, focusing on the following market segments: Historical Restoration & Museum Construction; Military & Security Construction; Construction for Healthcare Organizations; and Urban Development. We have completed over 230 construction contracts ranging in size from $40,000 to $4,500,000 with Federal Government Agencies including Department of the Military, Interior, Homeland Security, GSA, VA, USCG and NPS. In addition we have completed numerous Multi-Year Contracts, including the previous issuance of the IDIQ Maintenance Contract awarded by the U.S. Coast Guard. Of these contracts, 49 projects have been with the National Park Service. In 2003, Lumus Construction was awarded the Small Business Administration’s “Prime Contractor of the Year” award due to the nomination by the National Park Service for work performed on various NPS projects, “Small Business Contractor of the Year” – Region 1 by the SBA also in 2003, the SBA’s “Awards of Excellence” twice in recent years, and has been nominated for the SBA’s “Subcontractor of the Year” for construction excellence.

A key to the efficiency of our operations is our in-house capability to complete much of the construction process with our own forces. From excavation to concrete, roofing to windows, drywall to finish carpentry, plumbing to HVAC and fire protection to electrical, we do it all. By performing work with our own forces, we are able to maintain control over the entire construction process while still delivering a quality product. By self-performing key trades, we are better able to maintain schedule and closely monitor the quality of our production. Currently, Lumus maintains over 150 employees in various trades. Due to the size of our staff and with our union agreements which grant us access to thousands of additional skilled workers, we are able to quickly boost manpower to ensure productions levels are met.

The major strength of Lumus Construction is the quality and professionally attitude of our personnel and labor force. Mixed with youth and experience, our field personnel are motivated, highly disciplined and trained to be responsive to our clients’ needs. Lumus has union labor agreements with carpenters, electricians and plumbers & pipefitters which grants us access to thousands of skilled trades people to properly staff and schedule each project to meet our customer’s needs.

We are an 8(a) minority owned and operated company, backed by over 106 years and five generations of construction experience. Lumus has won numerous awards for exemplary work, and was named "Small Business Contractor of the Year" - Region 1 by the SBA for 2003. We have won the SBA’s “award of excellence” twice in recent years and have been nominated for the SBA’s “Subcontractor of the Year”. Because we self-perform the majority of our work, including the mechanical and electrical trades, our customers benefit from our flexibility and the exceptional level of customer service we can ensure.
